DIAGNOdent Diagnostic Laser System
A new procedure which uses laser technology to search for hidden decay

Were you ever really good at playing hide and seek? Well, cavities are good at hiding, too. In fact, they hide in places even X rays can't find. You may think these caries have the best hiding skills, but they're really no match for DIAGNOdent's cavity-detection power.

DIAGNOdent is a device dentists use to find even small amounts of dental decay at the earliest stages using laser technology. Think of it as a cavity detector. The dentist uses a laser to scan zones where decay is most likely to evade detection. When it detects any abnormality in the tooth, it fluoresces or emits a visible light and makes a beeping noise. The more decay, the more visible light and the faster the beeps. Numerical readings are also shown on the display of the DIAGNOdent.

This tool provides dentists with immediate feedback - an advantage for both you and the dentist. Early detection of caries will mean fewer fillings, faster appointments, and lower cost for dental treatments in the long run. Besides, wouldn't you want your cavity detected as early as possible, before it becomes a pain in the tooth?

DIAGNOdent is proven to be 90% accurate and allows dentists to avoid unnecessary exploration of teeth that are suspected to have cavities. And when it teams up with the X-ray, no cavity can hide. X-rays find cavities in between teeth and on the roots, while DIAGNOdent easily finds surface cavities.

Ask your dentist about DIAGNOdent - your hiding cavities won't stand a chance

Cerec system

One of the latest dental technology tools to appear on the dentistry scene is CEREC. The CEREC machine is a special computer that acts as a dental restoration tool, allowing your dentist to restore decayed teeth, place crowns, remove defective amalgam fillings, or place cosmetic veneers in just one appointment.

The CEREC Procedure
The beauty of a CEREC restoration is just that -- its beauty. Unlike unsightly silver fillings, CEREC fillings or restorations are made of tooth-colored ceramic (porcelain) so they look natural. A CEREC procedure requires less time, less drilling and fewer injections, too. It might sound too good to be true, but if you doubt that such good-looking restorations can be made in your dentist's office in just three easy steps, CEREC will put some optimism back into those doubts.

Here's how a typical CEREC procedure goes:

- Exam and Preparation -- Your dentist examines your teeth, decides on the preparation method, and starts prepping your teeth (removing the decay).

- Optical Impression -- An optical impression (picture) of the prepared tooth is taken.

- Restoration Creation -- Your dentist uses the CEREC machine to design and create the filling, crown or veneer, right in the office!

CEREC Technology

the CEREC 3D system is comprised of a CEREC Acquisition Unit, CEREC 3D software and a CEREC Milling Unit. The Acquisition Unit houses a medical-grade computer and CEREC camera; this unit takes a picture of your prepared tooth and creates a 3D model of it, which your dentist uses to design the restoration on screen.

The Milling Unit creates the porcelain filling, crown or veneer. During treatment, your dentist chooses a block of ceramic that resembles your natural tooth color and then places that ceramic block into the milling unit. The milling unit creates the restoration based on the design you just made on the Acquisition Unit, eliminating the need to take messy impressions or send work out to a lab. In about 8-18 minutes, your filling, crown or veneers will be complete and your dentist will bond it into place.

Keep in mind that not every dentist uses CEREC dental technology - yet. CEREC is catching on though -- over 4,000 dentists in the U.S. and Canada use CEREC and over seven million restorations have been placed worldwide.

Technology for diagnosis and treatment:

Since our objective has always been to put patients' interest first and acting to protect them we use in our dental clinic the most recent technology for diagnosis and treatment such as the intra oral camera, digital x-rays(RVG) and most recent the microscope.

The intraoral camera:
the intra oral camera is a new diagnostic tool we use at our dental clinics for ease of diagnosis and treatment so the dentist can check on the patients teeth, gums, mucosa, it can be used even extra orally, it is used to diagnose caries, gum disease, plaque, calculus and various dental and gingival problems, it s connected to a special screen in front of the patient, it is also used as a way to clarify the situation for the patient, it can be used to take records of teeth prior to treatment and after treatment as it can take still shots and recent models can take videos the dentist can by this keep digital records for the patient, the patient under a specific consent have a copy of this record

RVG (the digital x-ray):

The digital x-ray is another diagnostic tool we use in our clinic with this type of x-ray the patient is not moved from his dental chair to a special room to take an x-ray since the amount of x ray taken with RVG is reduced by 10 times and the quality of image is better than the original x ray so the most incipient details appear for better diagnosis of any dental problem by this putting patients' interest first, the RVG is connected to a computer so the image directly appears on the screen unlike conventional x rays that take time with processing thus time elapsed between x ray and result is few seconds and allows the dentist to keep digital records for the patient easily, so with this technology present and used at our clinic we benefit our dear patients with the following:
1-less quantity of x-ray taken
2-less time required since we value time ours and our patients'
3-no processing needed, no use of chemicals
4-better details in image
5-easy storage of digital records
6-can be used as a comparison tool between old and new digital x-rays for patient
7-can be used for follow up which we emphasise
8-the RVG can be used to assess the amount and quality of bone in a patient's jaws

Nobel Teeth in an Hour TM

Dentures are a scary thought for most. The joy we take in snacking on a nice juicy apple or crunching on some corn on the cob becomes an ordeal for those with a full set of dentures. The Center for Disease Control estimates there are over 15,000 Americans age 65 and older who have suffered complete tooth loss due to decay or gum disease. This figure doesn't factor in those who have lost their teeth due to a tragic accident.

Until this point, the only option for people that have suffered complete tooth loss has been dentures or implants. Dentures can be awkward and result in significant bone loss. Implants require many visits to the dentist. Those days are over. Scientists and dentists have created the ultimate advancement in dental technology. Toothless patients now have an amazing technique at their disposal.

A Whole New World

Nobel Biocare™ has created the Teeth-in-an-Hour™ process. The name is self-explanatory, but what is so unique is the state-of-the-art process this product employs.

This system is all computer enabled. The majority of work is done in the planning stage, so the patient only needs surgery for -- quite literally -- one hour. Once complete, the patient goes from totally toothless to a full mouth of functioning permanent teeth.

How Do They Make Teeth-in-an-Hour?

The pre-surgery visit is when the magic happens:

- CT scan of jaw bones
- CAD/CAM
- Engineered by Nobel
- Length and width of bone is assessed
- Position of implant decided
- Information e-mailed to Nobel labs in Sweden

Within two weeks, a Nobel Guide surgical template is returned, along with specially designed, pre-manufactured pieces. The precise nature of this guide makes for an easy and comfortable surgery. Since the majority of the work is done before you're in the chair, this is a greatly improved technique for the patient.

This cuts healing time greatly and the patient is able to get back to a normal life. In addition, implant rejection and/or complications are greatly reduced.

Consider Nobel's Teeth-in-an-Hour if you, or someone you know, is thinking about implants. These safe and effective implants will get you back to snacking on your favourite foods in no time - with a strong set of choppers

LUMINEERS BY CERINATE Technique

Slighty stained teeth

Before

Teeth are stained, slightly misshapen with spaces in-between. An impression is made and the mold is sent to the Cerinate Smile Design Studios where only LUMINEERS are crafted.

No Painful Preparation

LUMINEERS VENEERS NO PAINFUL TOOTH PREPARATION

On next dental visit, the dentist tries in LUMINEERS to ensure a good fit. Teeth are moderately etched to prepare for placement but there is no removal of sensitive tooth structure, unlike the painful part of traditional veneer techniques. The LUMINEERS are bonded to natural teeth and set in place with a curing light.

PAINFREE AFTER

In only 2 easy dental visits, your patient will have a permanently whiter and beautiful smile without shots, drilling, or pain.

TRADITIONAL VENEERS Technique

Slighty stained teeth

BEFORE

Teeth appear stained and slightly misshapen. An impression is made and sent to a lab.

Teeth shaved down

TRADITIONAL VENEER TOOTH PREPARATION

Anesthetic shots are given to numb the area and teeth are severely shaved away with a drill to accommodate the veneers.

Nice teeth

POTENTIALLY PAINFUL AFTER

A better, but still flawed smile, as the procedure is not reversible like LUMINEERS because the original teeth have been shaved down causing your patient pain and discomfort immediately after the procedure.
